Write for ABE Magazine

Your voice. Your perspective. Your opportunity to be heard.

Great journalism begins with curiosity, thoughtful questions and the courage to explore ideas.

At ABE Magazine, we believe meaningful stories can come from anywhere and that talented emerging writers deserve opportunities to develop their voices.

We are an independent international digital publication exploring business, economics, global affairs, technology, entrepreneurship and the forces shaping our world.

As we grow, we are inviting students, aspiring journalists, researchers, photographers, editors and emerging writers to contribute original work and become part of our developing editorial community.

Whether you are studying at Sheridan College, attending another institution or pursuing writing independently, we welcome your interest.

How contributing works

Step 1 — Introduce yourself. Complete our contributor application with your interests and background.

Step 2 — Share your ideas. Tell us what topics you would like to cover. You may also include a writing sample, although this is optional.

Step 3 — Editorial review. Our editorial team will review applications and contact selected applicants to discuss possible contributions.

Step 4 — Develop your article. If a pitch is accepted, you will receive editorial guidance and can prepare your article for review.

Step 5 — Publication. Articles that meet our editorial standards may be published on ABE Magazine with an appropriate contributor byline.

Acceptance as a contributor does not guarantee that every submitted article will be published.

Participation, payment and rights

ABE Magazine is an emerging independent publication. At this stage, contributor opportunities are voluntary and unpaid.

Participation is flexible, and contributors are not required to commit to a fixed number of articles. We understand that students and emerging writers have academic, professional and personal responsibilities.

There is no promise of future paid employment or compensation. Describing an opportunity as voluntary or unpaid does not determine its legal status or remove any rights that apply by law. Before work begins, we must confirm the scope, publication permissions and any payment required by applicable law. Please do not begin an assignment until those arrangements are agreed.

Contributors retain ownership of their original work, subject to the publication permissions agreed upon before an article is published. We do not require exclusive ownership of contributors’ work.

ABE Magazine is independently operated and is not an official Sheridan College program or affiliated with the college.

Our editorial principles

We are committed to accuracy, fairness, originality and responsible journalism.

We expect contributors to verify factual claims, identify reliable sources, respect copyright, disclose relevant conflicts of interest and avoid plagiarism or fabricated information.

All submissions are subject to editorial review. We reserve the right to request revisions, decline submissions or correct published material when necessary.
